Aishah Z Abdullah

President

  • Aisha attained her Early Childhood Care & Education (Montessori) qualification in 1999 and is a mother of five children. Trained as a lawyer from Middle Temple, London, England, she supports child rights through advocacy work as President of the Montessori Association of Malaysia and as Director of Malaysian Child Resource Institute. She also provides consultancy work for setting up schools as well as does teacher-training and volunteers with local NGO child-centred initiatives. A lawyer by training, Aisha authored the book “Why Montessori? Choosing the Right Preschool”, (“Mengapa Montessori? Memilih Prasekolah yang Sesuai”) published by Times Media Pte Ltd. in 2001.

obtained her Masters in Montessori Intergrative Learning form Endicott College, Beverly, Massachusetts, USA in 2015 and is keen in her observation and work on continued human development amidst the reachable stakeholders of society within the community, both locally and globally. She continues in her quest for peace through her work in her resumed collaborative law practice in Shah Alam, Malaysia through areas of family law and child protection both in the civil and syariah system as well as an accredited mediator with the Malaysian Mediation Council.

Rozella Razali Wong

Vice President

Rozella obtained her Dip in Montessori (St. Nicholas) later on in her academic journey and went to work with adults working with children through providing training not only for the Montessori methodology but also for the local Basic Child Care course in Malaysia required for those wanting to work in nurseries.

Her first qualification, B. A in Social Sciences (Psychology) from University of Calgary, Canada proved extremely useful in her work in ECCE (early childhood, care & education). Rozella has more recently obtained a Masters of Counselling (Open University Malaysia) and finds much satisfaction in working in the field of health and wellness.

Treasurer

A qualified accountant with many years of practice, Michelle Wong stumbled upon Montessori education that subsequently led her to experience a scientific way to bring out the child’s true nature. This convinced Michelle to be actively involved with schools, homes or children centres to observe the Montessori philosophy in early childhood and learning development. Many projects followed to share and promote the direct application of the Montessori philosophy and methodology including at locations such as TI-RATANA , TASPUTRA PERKIM, HARVEST CENTRE, TRINITY HOME, RUMAH CARING, and RUMAH OZANAM. Additional works in progress include a forest school/community programme in Raub , Pahang, and an intergenerational local clb to foster relationships and common understanding between generations.

Prioritising early childhood care and education, Michelle proceeded to obtain her Inteinational Diploma in     Montessori     Pedagogy,     (MCI) as well as a Diploma in Learning Disorders Management & Child Psychology (Linguistic Council), She has also followed the Montessori Teacher Programme by, International Montessori Society (US).

Currently, Michelle is managing and operating two schools in Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia that adopt fully the Montessori philosophy and teaching for children from the early years to their adolescent years. ). She is the founder and co-partner of these schools known as Montessori Homeschool as well its elementary counterpart, My Cosmic Montessori Sdn Bhd as its founder and managing director.

Michelle holds positions as an executive director n the child rights organization, MCRI (Malaysian Child Resource Institute) and a director of MWEI Asia Sdn Bhd, a Montessori teacher-training centre. Michelle envisions several more community projects and services  in  the  near future to outreach more children nationwide and ultimately throughout the world.

Sweeli Ang

Secretary

Sweeli is known for her approaches of Early Childhood learning in an innovative manner. She founded and developed the syllabus for the method of teaching Early Literacy in Malay language for bilingual children. She also created materials for teaching science and mathematics, including the Malaysian currency system, applying Montessori’s system in Mathematics. Applying art techniques as a prelude to writing, she has observed that children learn better when actively interacting with manipulatives.

Sweeli is the founder of Earth Child Education, a company which researches and develops teaching materials for early childhood education and trains teachers in her methodologies. In her teaching career, she has served as school principal and an Early Childhood teacher for 10 years working with young children from ages 3 to 6 years.

She now trains teachers and parents in applying these methods when working with young children. Sweeli received her formal training in Early Childhood Education from the Montessori World Education Institute and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at UNITAR International University.
